About Daniel

My name is Daniel Hummel and I have been a Farm Bureau agent in Northfield, MN since 2010. 

I grew up in Chisholm, MN, graduated in 1976 and continued my education by achieving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design in 1981. Realizing my passion to serve others, I joined the armed services and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force in 1982. During military career: 

*Earned my Certificate of Aeronautical Rating as a Distinguished Graduate, C-130 Navigator in 1984 

*Logged 4,000 hours of C-130 flight time, including 137 combat sorties 

*Served with the Minnesota Air National Guard 1984-2004 - achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel 

*Received “The Air Medal” award for meritorious achievement while participating in sustained aerial flight as a C-130 Navigator. 

*As a Veteran, I served in: 
+Operation Desert Storm (Gulf War) 
+Operation Provide Promise (Bosnia-Herzegovina) 
+Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq) 

From 1984 to 2010, commercial photography was also my career, working for Fortune 500 companies in the Minneapolis, MN area. 

Northfield has been home for my wife Kristin and I for almost 20 years and in that time I have been active in the community, raising our 3 kids; Paul, Greta and Caroline and contributing to local fundraisers including Laura Baker and the Defeat of Jessie James Days. It is my wish to continue serving the families of Minnesota by helping protect their home and family through Farm Bureau Financial Services.
